Red Pants

I don't know what's wrong with me, wanting all of this color. But hey, it must be spring fever or something.
The latest on my red/orange color wish list is a pair of red skinny jeans. How hot would these look with a sheer white button down and some cute sling back sandals?

Because, if I buy these I'm certain that I'll look as awesome as this girl:

Polka Dot Paradise

If you saw the Topshop runway, you know that polka dots are in for this season.

I love these little guys, they're just so bubbly and girly and feel very fresh for spring. I'm on the hunt for the perfect polka dot dress (and shoes, of course : ) ) but here's a few of my favorite picks:

Things for Spring (and now too)

I'm starting to compile a "things I would like to find in my closet this spring" list.
Great thing is that a lot of them are already in stores (and already on sale what?!).
Not-so-great thing is that it's still freezing and snowing up in here for the next few months.

And since I never quite got down that whole patience thing, I want to wear my purchases right now!

So here's my spring wish-list, and how I'd wear it now (left) and later (right)

Floaty Maxi-skirt
I love, love maxi skirts. It's taken me a little while for my eye to adjust to the silhouette, but I've decided that it's love. Now if I could only find one long enough to purchase because I hate when they end around your ankles instead of skimming the ground : (

Brown Suede Boots
So I want a pair of suede booties for spring. Brown, soft suede, with laces, a little heel but not too high, and a little western inspired, but no cowboy boots please.
And did I mention these are on sale for $19.99?
Holla.

High-waist Denim Skirt
I love the girl-next-door vibe of a denim mini skirt but, as I've mentioned, my body does not like a low skirt. Instead, I'd love to track down a flippy little high-waisted a-line denim mini. Much better.

Chambray Shirt
This one is more a classic. I had a great one by Tommy Hilfiger last summer, but due to an unfortunate bleach incident, it had to retire. So I'm on the hunt for a new one this year.

Wish List

It's almost Christmas and I finally got a chance to head down into the village for some Christmas shopping.

Visited a few boutiques in St. Marks, stopped by the Strand, perused Max Brenner's Chocolate by the Bald Man, and checked out the Union Square market.
Done.
Also dropped some stuff off at a new tailor, I still love Laura & Melinda with all my heart, but he's gotten so busy (word about a good tailor travels fast) and he hasn't had a chance to hire help yet. We will see how the new guy does.

I also get so excited around this time of year, seeing all of the other blogger's wish-lists. It's a daily dose of eye-candy.

As for my Christmas wish list?

If I get any of these goodies under the tree, I will be very happy.

Clockwise from top left:

ASOS wool peg pant, Land's End sailor tee, Lord and Taylor pyramid studs, Shiseido lash enamel mascara, LAMB leather mix pant, ASOS pussybow blouse, J. Crew Paulina ballet flats

Center:

Clarisonic Mia skincare brush

So tell me, what's on your wish-list this Christmahannukwanza?

Geekery

I technically refuse to ever start thinking about Christmas until after Thanksgiving (and trust me, I do not participate in any of the Black Friday madness. I will be sleeping in until a decadent 2 in the afternoon thankyouverymuch).
But I saw these and I absolutely adore them.

They're made from resin and old pieces of circuit board. Tres geek-chic.

I just need a pair of these to top it all off:

Wish List

Starting to think about spring, and spending my saturday lounging about, imaginary shopping (aka things to buy when the paycheck comes in).
What's on my wishlist at the moment?
So glad you asked.

Rosalind Crop Cardi
My closet always has room for another cardigan, and I love the quirky trompe l'oeil pattern on this one.

Classiques Entier "Cosmo" Jacket
For a pop of color in a sort of parisian style. Also a good coat for those in between spring days.

Ann Taylor Loft Drawstring Anorak
So since I've been working at the loft I've been staring at this coat on the mannequin. It's probably the one thing in the whole store that I'm whole-heartedly salivating on.

ASOS Maxi Dress
See why I need this here.

Aerie Striped Tee
This is one of those basics that I just haven't found the perfect one until now. Long sleeves, thin navy stripe, boat neck, slim cut, perfect.

Butter by Nadia Signature Jersey Dress
I like dresses and skirts. Like a lot.
The only thing I love more? When they're made of jersey.
Why do I love this dress beyond reason? Because it's like a bazillion favorite dresses in one.

The Love List

Let's start off this week on the right foot with a list of things that make my heart go pitter-pat!

Okay, confession, I'm a HUGE Lady Gaga fan (just like everyone else apparently... I know, I know). But isn't this music video crazy-beautiful?

Nutella. I think I might have eaten three jars by myself this weekend. I have a chocolate problem.

Joe's jeans, specifically the Cigarette and Muse ones.

I do love my AE jeans, but these ones just oozed quality and fit like a second, buttery soft, skin. I think spent half an hour just checking myself out in the dressing room mirror until Erin finally dragged me out of them. So... if anyone sees a pair, size 25, for less than $50 give a shout out m'kay?

Peggy Guggenheim. After reading about her avid collecting of art, dogs and men, (not necessarily in that order apparently) I'm absolutely intrigued by her, and might have a slight girl-crush. Also Lara Stone as Peggy (as shot by Karl Lagerfield for the November Harper's Bazaar) is gorgeous.

My Christmas Wishlist

Every year my family complains that I'm "SOOOOO picky" and it's "SOOO HARD to shop for you". So every year I wind up making a idiot-proof wishlist at the beginning of December for them. It usually consists of those things that I really, desperately need or just can't justify buying for myself.
So Santa, since I've been such a good, good girl this year....

Wanted Pops black ballet flats
I wore a hole in the heel of my BCBG black flats and am in desperate need of another pair. I honestly have never heard of anyone wearing through a pair of shoes before... I must walk really hard or something.

Candle Bay Lavender and Gardenia reed diffusers
Mmmmmm.... gardenia.

Tretorn Skerry Vinter boots
Rain and snow boots. If you haven't heard yet about why I hate buying practical shoes, please check out this.

Stars for Sydell double finger ring
Okay, so this doesn't qualify as a "need" really, but I do really, really want it.

Winona Dimeo Ediger's book: Closet Confidential
I love this blogger, if you haven't heard of her go check her out right this second. I'm also endlessly impressed by anyone who can write a book and according to the reviews it's just as hilarious as her blog.

Passes to my Bikram yoga studio
Because although $20 a class can eat up a wad of cash, sometimes you just need some help to get your zen on.

Gift certificate to my favorite spa back home
Sometimes during the winter I like to play the game that "if I can't see my disgusting, calloused, hang-nailed feet, they don't exist". Unfortunately that doesn't work too well.
So if you live anywhere on the North Shore of MA, check out Nails & Spa Co. They are super cheap and do an awesome mani, pedi and facial.

What I Like

So I went shopping with my shopaholic friend Erin today, and then we went to see the new movie Paranormal (fabulous, but OH SO SCARY. I'm not going to lie, I'm still freaked out about it.) and then went for dessert at Chocolate by the Bald Man, where I then proceeded to pass out in a chocolate coma over a mini chocolate cake filled with peanut butter and fudge, with vanilla and chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream with chocolate flakes. YUM!
ANYWAY, so I know that I can never go shopping with Erin with any sort of money in my pocket, but as I was going through Bloomingdale's with her (its about a three hour process when I'm with her) I mentally was making a list of things I like. Like:
Fur (Faux of course):
I'm a very textural person, if I don't like running my hands over it I will not wear it. I'm still that kid that complains "BUT IT"S ITCHY!!!" about wool sweaters. So that's why I love these fur pieces. I just want to constantly run my hands over them and bury my face in them... also they're pretty awesome looking on.

Platform heels:

I'm not sure why I like platforms, it's not like I need the extra height or anything. Maybe it's purely practical, a bit of a platform does make a heel more comfortable. Who am I kidding? I'm the last thing from practical. I like the platform because of the interesting, almost futuristic shape it can make to heel and how it can make a boring office pump into something much more sleek and devilish.

Big rings:

My new found obsession with rings has come attached with the motto: Go big or Go home. I figure if I'm going to break into ring territory I'm going to do it fabulously, none of those insignificant little bands, I want something that you can see from several blocks away as I hail a taxi. Hmm.... maybe if I wear these rings I'll finally get a taxi to stop for me when I'm hailing it.
