So every summer/spring I go on the hunt for the perfect, easy, breezy white dress. (kind of like every fall/winter I'm on the hunt for the perfect leather jacket. Sensing a pattern yet?)
Here are a few I'm eyeing, all of them at reasonable prices so I won't freak out when I inevitably get bbq sauce on them or something (my table manners leave something to be desired so anything white I own better be cheap).

Addict
Confession time: I've been wearing my new joe's jeans for almost a week straight. I'm going to have to peel them off my body some time soon to wash them, and I will be very upset.
I've always bought my jeans from American Eagle at about $50 a pop, and I figured they were good jeans. I knew designer denim was supposed to be better, but I figured it couldn't be that much of a difference.
Boy, was I wrong. My joe's jeans are so comfy, make my ass look fantastic, are molded to my body and are basically made of unicorn hair and fairy dust dreams.
I just can't go back to $50 jeans, I'm sorry American Eagle.
I'm a designer denim addict now (blame my champagne tastes) and I need another pair, but I can't blow my bank account on them. I'm just praying Ebay will come through again.
In other, less depressing news, I have my latest article for College Fashion up about one of my favorite eco-friendly basics brands: Alternative Apparel. Check it out here.

Remix
I've been on a bit of remix kick lately. My favorite remixer(?) lately is Mike Posner who's remixed some of the pop tunes you hear playing everywhere, and makes them fresh (and funny) again.

Yesterday my friend and I decided to take a bellydancing class.
Why?
Why not?
Honestly I agreed partially because my workout routine was a snoozefest of yoga, running, yoga, running, and then if we want to get real crazy I'd swim a few laps and do a few flips off the diving board until the lifeguard on duty yells at me.
So we decided on Serena Studios because it was nearby and because we'd heard good things about it from the dance majors at our school, and an hour long class was only $12.
My friend was meh about it, but I loved it and promptly got a five-class card.
Here's why my experience was awesome:
As a work out it was pretty intense. Not sweaty, heavy breathing intense, but just the amount of muscle control you need and the fact that it works muscles that I didn't even know existed.
As a studio it was an incredibly welcoming environment. The place is tiny, but the receptionist was adorable, the teacher very warm and funny, and all the women there were really nice.
As a work out, this is probably one of the most accepting classes I've taken. Maybe because it's very hard to be competitive with someone when you're just in your sports bra, or maybe its because this is a dance that was made by women for women.
While some people would say it's sexual (ahem. Blondie) I think that it's a dance that specifically showcases what's beautiful about every woman from the skinny little girls like me, to the curvy women with a belly (it is called belly dancing after all).
Also, it was crazy fun. How can you not crack a smile and laugh a little when you're standing there jiggling your butt?

Weekend
God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things... Right now, I'm so far behind I'm never going to die.
I think I first heard that from one of my professors.
Anyway, I have some goodies coming up aka a load of articles I'm supposed to be writing right now, some new blogposts (I promise!), and a review on my belly dancing experience I'm having today.
Yeah, I said belly dancing.
Hope all you lovelies have a great weekend.

Love in My Inbox
I subscribe to the Zoe Report (yeah, and I'm proud of it!) and while usually I think that the things that she picks are a tad.... extreme, perhaps, this morning I found a real treat in my mail box.
True, these were in the "Parallel Universe" section of her Report where she lists a more affordable version of some crazy designer goody, but actually I like these better than the designer's.
Wanna know why?
Great. Take a seat for a long rambling story because it's almost midnight and I just had two midterms and 9 hours of work, and I have a cup of tea and a grilled cheese sandwich on my desk which means I'm in the mood to talk.
So back in my little hometown high-school all the girls had a uniform. In case you were wondering it looked like this:
Unfortunately, while I did try to get the uniform right it never quite got there. Apparently granny boots don't count as uggs, a crocodile bag is not a Vera Bradley, and a fur coat (while as fuzzy as fleece) doesn't quite count as North Face material.
So I had some fun, the other girls had a few laughs, and everyone agreed that while I tried I was always just a little "off".
That brings me to why I love this little handcuff bracelet.
Because the pride and joy of many girls were their Tiffany heart charm bracelets and I feel that this handcuff one is a perfect retort from me to all of those Tiffany bracelets.
It has the shape, the class, the cache, but (as it always seems to be with me) the handcuff closure makes it just a little off.
and you know what? I like it better that way. : )

Last Dance
I had my Comp Sci midterm today, and I think it went pretty well. WOOO!!
Anyway, I think it's that time again. Maybe I'll head down to Brooklyn. Or perhaps just a quick trip somewhere will solve it. I'm thinking Bermuda would be nice : )
I've been listening to Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty on repeat for some reason.
I wish I was wearing this today.
And I got all of my stuff in the mail today, thankfully it was all undamaged and fit perfectly, except for my leather jacket :(
I've tried about five different brands of leather jackets so far, and they all fit perfectly on the upper body, and then decide to bell out on the bottom so I look preggers. SO ANNOYING.
I've finally had it and I called up Mustafa (my tailor. I will marry this man) and he said that he'd be able to take it in. Thank god.
Anyway, back to studying french. Wish me luck.

Also I've got the worst case of wanderlust again. I've been spending the past week just staring out windows and wishing to just go. away. somewhere.
I think it might be time for a change of scenery again. I tend to have to move every year or so or I start getting antsy (I'm blaming my dad for this one. His side of the family can't ever live in one place for more than two years, I think it's just in my blood). Anyway, I think it's that time again. Maybe I'll head down to Brooklyn.
